CV Lattes ResearcherID ORCID

Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Faculdade de Medicina (FM)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Faculty member at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Discipline of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine. She graduated in Biological Sciences: Microbiology and Immunology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and obtained her PhD in 2016 from the Graduate Program in Sciences (Microbiology) at the Instituto de Microbiologia Paulo de Góes, UFRJ (CAPES rating 7). From 2016 to 2019, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Brazilian National Cancer Institute, applying bioinformatics tools to large-scale sequencing data analyses of solid tumors, particularly from the upper digestive tract. Between 2020 and 2022, she held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, in a research project that integrated basic research and public health, applying next-generation sequencing to identify biomarkers of disease progression in endemic arbovirus infections, especially DENV and CHIKV (PITE/FAPESP-bioMérieux). She subsequently held a FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship in a study aimed at investigating, through Systems Biology approaches, the molecular mechanisms involved early in the progression to post-Chikungunya chronic inflammatory joint disease. She has also participated in projects involving sequencing and genomic analysis of emerging viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and Monkeypox. She is currently a fellow of the Eric Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Global Faculty Fellowship (Imperial College London, 20252027), with a project focused on applying artificial intelligence to understand immunological and molecular mechanisms associated with the pathogenesis and clinical outcomes of arbovirus infections. She is presently a faculty member at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Discipline of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine.
