Birthplace: Brazil

Vinícius holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Lavras (2020), awarded with academic merit, and a Masters degree funded by CNPq from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (2022). He is currently pursuing a PhD at the same institution where he obtained his Masters degree, in cotutelle with the Université Marie et Louis Pasteur (UMLP), funded by FAPESP (#2023/11207-7, #2024/07549-2). Recently, he completed a one-year research internship abroad (BEPE) in France, at the FEMTO-ST laboratory. He is a member of the ENVIBRO research group (Periodic Structure Design and Optimization for Enhanced Vibroacoustic Performance), a thematic project funded by FAPESP (#2018/15894-0), where he works on research related to elastic metamaterials and phononic crystals. He is also an active member of the D-SMART group (Dynamics of Smart Structures) of the Department of Applied Mechanics (DMA) at FEMTO-ST. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on the Dynamics of Rigid, Elastic, and Plastic Bodies, working mainly on the following topics: wave propagation, finite elements, stochastic finite elements, mechanical vibrations, structural dynamics, numerical methods, experimental modal analysis, model updating, periodic structures and metamaterials, probabilistic analyses and uncertainty propagation, fluid-structure interaction, and model reduction.
