He holds a degree in Dentistry from the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara Unesp (1986), a master's degree in Restorative Dentistry from the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara - Unesp (1992), a Ph.D. in Restorative Dentistry from the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara - Unesp (1996), Postdoctoral studies at the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral Health Care Sciences, EASTMAN, England (1998-2000), and a Livre-Docente degree in Removable Partial Prosthesis from the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara - UNESP (2003). Currently, he is a Full Professor at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho, Department of Dental Materials and Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara - UNESP, where he served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Oral Rehabilitation (Master's and Ph.D.) from 2007 to 2012. He worked as an Advisor for Cooperation Support at the UNESP External Relations Advisory Office from 2013 to 2016 and as Chief of Staff at UNESP from 2017 to 2021. He has experience in the field of Dentistry, with a focus on Prosthodontics, mainly in the following areas: removable partial dentures, microwave disinfection, prosthetic stomatitis, oral biofilm, and biomaterials. Currently, he is the Coordinator of the Health Area (Health II) at the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). Since 2012, he has been the Principal Investigator and Coordinator of the Health area of the Research Center for the Development of Functional Materials, one of the Research, Innovation, and Dissemination Centers (Cepids) supported by FAPESP.
