I am a Full Professor at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in the Production Engineering Department of the Polytechnic School in Brazil. I coordinate the Project Management Lab, the Master Programs in Project Management (USP/FCAV), and the research group QEP-Quality and Product Engineering of CNPq. I hold a BSc in Production Engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo, and MSc and Ph.D. degrees in the same area from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, and the Post-Doctoral Program at the Polytechnic of Milan. I participate in the Advisory Committee of the research chair in aeronautical project management at University of Quebec a Trois Rivières, Canada. I am a member of the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management (UK), Journal of Modern Project Management, PM World Journal. I published 12 books (in Brazil and USA) and a number of articles in leading journals as International Journal of Project Management, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Operations & Production Mangement, Journal of Cleaner Production, among others. I have been coordinating projects sponsored by several funds such as CNPq, CAPES, FAPESP-Newton Fund. I have academic partnerships (projects, co-authored papers and/or exchange of students) with University of Cambridge (UK), Aston University (UK), University of Surrey (UK), University of York (UK), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Technical University of Denmark (DTU- Denmark), University of Quebec (Canada).
