Birthplace: Brazil

Agricultural Engineer (Agronomist) from the Federal University of Viçosa in 1994, master and doctor in Agronomy/Phytopathology, focusing on biological control. Worked as a professor of Phytopathology and Environmental Microbiology. Has been a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa, since 2001, working in Research, Development Innovation at the interface between agriculture and the environment. Dedicated his research to the development of bioinputs for agriculture, the assessment of sustainability and the impacts of climate change on agriculture. Coordinated Embrapa's Rational Pesticide Management project portfolio and the Biological Control Working Group of the Southern Cone Plant Health Committee (COSAVE). Was a representative of Embrapa on the Environmental Commission of the National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) and on the National Executive Committee of the Sector Plan for the Consolidation of a Low Carbon Emission Economy in Agriculture (CENABC) ABC+ Plan. Held the deputy heads of Technology Transfer and Research and Development and was general head of Embrapa Environment from 2015 to 2022. Was actively involved in the construction of RenovaBio (National Biofuels Policy) since its conception, together with government bodies and productive sector, as well as the technical team responsible for building the policy metrics and tools (RenovaCalc). Participated in the team that developed the National Fertilizer Plan, on the topic of sustainability. Is an advisor to the FIESP Superior Agribusiness Council (COSAG) and a member of the Board of the Agrogalaxy Institute. Since 2022, has been a member of the Brazilian delegation in the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) climate negotiations.
