Graduated in 1987, he holds a master's degree (1992), a doctorate (1997) and a full-time doctorate (2011), all of them in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo. He develop a postdoctoral stage at Polytechnic University of Catalonia - Barcelona Tech in 2010. He is currently an associate professor at the University of São Paulo and head of the Department of Civil Construction Engineering. He served as coordinator of the Graduate Program in Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic School of USP from 2016 to 2020. He has experience in Civil Engineering, particularly with infrastructure works, with emphasis on Quality Control and Construction Materials. He develops his works, mainly in the areas of special concrete destined to infrastructure works, and in particular, concrete and concrete with applicable fibers in tunnels, concrete pipes, dams and paving. It also works in the area of waste recycling in portland cement concretes. In his professional career he has worked in the area of standardization, having worked in the study commissions on projected concrete, steel fibers, concrete pipes for drainage and sewage systems and fiber reinforced concrete having been the author of several reference texts.
