Dr. Mariana Lemos-Duarte, working with Dr. Lakshmi Devi is investigating the role of protein kinases in modulating desensitization by G protein coupled receptors and identifying small molecule ligands targeting orphan G protein coupled receptors. Dr. Lemos-Duarte holds a bachelor?s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Rio de Janeiro Federal University and a master?s degree in Cell Biology from the National Cancer Institute in Brazil and a PhD degree from the Institute of Chemistry at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Lemos-Duarte obtained her postdoctoral training at the Ludwig Cancer Institute, San Diego, CA working with Dr. Karen Oegema, Dr. Arshad Desai and Dr. Andrew Shiau (Small Molecule Discovery Lab) and with Dr. Anamaria Camargo at the Ludwig Cancer Institute, São Paulo, Brazil.
