Deborah Penteado Martins Dias

Deborah is passionate about horses, she is very enthusiastic and dedicated over 23 years to equine medicine and surgery. Besides the researcher and teaching activities at Universities, she worked actively as clinician and surgeon in the Veterinary Teaching Hospitals, focusing on emergency surgery and intensive care. She performed several externships and courses, spoked at national and international veterinary meetings and has papers published in journals. In february 2018, Deborah moved to Lisbon to integrate the team of Equine Surgery and Urgency Service of Lisbon University, directed by Professor Luis Lamas, DVM PhD DipECVS. During this period she developed her skills and knowledge, which was essencial to built and direct an equine hospital in Brazil. Today, Deborah is responsible for the team of Potencial Equine Hospital and performs seasonal works as surgeon at Lisbon University every 3-4 months. Her main objective today is to complete a Residency in Large Animal Surgery and become ECVS diplomate, an old dream since the first steps of her career. Her hobby is riding horses, completing a journey dedicated to "save horses and teaching to save", her ideal of life. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
