She has a degree in Biological Sciences - Bachelor's Degree, from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2004) and a Doctorate in Science from the Department of Microbiology (2013), with an emphasis on Virology, from the University of São Paulo (USP). She held two post-doctorates in the Department of Microbiology (2014-2019) at the University of São Paulo (USP). She is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Parasitology at the Escola Paulista de Medicina da UNIFESP, where she carries out Research and Teaching activities with an emphasis on Virology. In recent years, her group contributed to relevant studies related to emerging viruses, mainly: arboviruses (Zika virus, Chikungunya virus, Mayaro virus, and Yellow Fever virus) and respiratory viruses (SARS-CoV-2). With her experience in the field of Virology, the focus of her research is on the following topics: molecular characterization of viral infections in different cellular models, cell modulation in the face of viral replication, analysis of the humoral immune response to the mentioned viruses, and in the context of co-infections and finally, evaluation of the activity of possible peptides/molecules that present antiviral activity.
