Mariana graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor`s degree in Biomedical Science from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Brazil, received her Ph.D. in Science from the Universidade de São Paulo in November 2013, started her first postdoc in Dr. Nixon`s lab in January 2014 at the Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine department from The George Washington University.
