Birthplace: Brazil

Agronomy Engineer, Associate Professor #3, Department of Biosystems Engineering (LEB/Esalq/USP) ( Specialized in Irrigation and Drainage from the Brazil-Spain International Course. Completed a Master and Doctoral in Irrigation and Drainage from Esalq/USP. In 2012, concluded his Post-Doctorate in Irrigation and Drainage at the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). Responsible for the undergraduate course: Physics of the Agricultural Environment (Agronomic Engineering and Forestry Engineering Courses), Physics (Food Sciences) and Physics for Biology (Biological Sciences). Responsible for two courses on Graduate level, on the Graduate Program in Agricultural Systems Engineering (PPGESA/Esalq/USP): 1) LEB 5038: Modeling water flow and solute transport in soil and groundwater and 2) LEB 5003: Natural Water Management. The sesearch line is in Irrigation and Drainage: development and application of simulation models of the water and solute dynamics in soil profile, environmental contamination of soil and groundwater, computer simulation of the water table position (drainage of agricultural lands), monitoring of soil moisture (calibration and application of electronic sensors), obtaining solute transport parameters in the soil (elaboration and numerical adjustment of Breakthrough Curves, BTCs). Since 2009, he has working in international cooperation with Professors/Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) (Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering). In 2016 he began research activities with the Department of Biological Systems Engineering, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA). In 2018, he began research activities with the University of New South Wales (UNSW; Sydney, Australia) and the Politehnica University of Timisoara (Romania). Since 2012 he has been a Fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE-USA) and Member of the ASABE Committee SW-23 Drainage (USA). Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Agricultural Systems Engineering (Esalq/USP) from 2015 to 2016. Since April 2017, has served as Coordinator of the International Collaboration Project between Esalq/USP and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Chile and from 2023 as Coordinator of the International Agreement between Esalq/USP and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA).
