Birthplace: Brazil

Environmental Engineer (FUMEP - Piracicaba School of Engineering), Master's in Hydraulic and Sanitary Engineering (USP - São Carlos School of Engineering) and PhD in Sciences - Area of Concentration: Engineering (USP - São Carlos School of Engineering). Experienced in wastewater treatment and utilization of agro-industrial/domestic waste for biogas production and obtaining other fermentation products (volatile fatty acids and butanol). Worked in the field of bioenergy generation in reactors designed for the production of hydrogen, methane, butanol, and electricity in biophotovoltaic processes. His work in sustainability also extends to research and patents for wastewater depollution and carbon sequestration from the atmosphere. In the field of Enzymatic Reactors, he worked on the Production of Compounds for the Pharmaceutical Industry in Systems with Enzymes Immobilized in Composites/Lignocellulosic Materials. He developed Postdoctoral work at the São Carlos Institute of Physics (USP - IFSC) on the Production of Ethanol, VFAs and Biogas from Pentose Fermentation. In 2008, as part of a team, he won the Mercosur Science and Technology Award (UNESCO, CNPq, Petrobras) with the study: Production of Biohydrogen from Wastewater to be used as an alternative energy source. In 2018, as part of a team, he received the Best Hardware award (3D printed reactor for GMO cultivation) from the IGEM World Competition, conceived and hosted at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Currently, he works on the evaluation and proposal of biorefineries, removal of toxic compounds from biological processes by electrocoagulation (PATENT: BR1020240110447), and development of biophotovoltaic systems for electricity generation, carbon sequestration, and oxygen production (PATENT: BR1020250195534). He is a professor in the Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering course (FCFAR-UNESP). He is a permanent professor in the Postgraduate Program in Biomaterials and Bioprocess Engineering (PPG-FCFAR-UNESP). He has developed projects, raised funds, and contributed solutions to companies such as ERBR Energias Renováveis, Usina Santa Fé S.A., DSM Produtos Nutricionais, Laticínios Bela Vista (Piracanjuba), and ADN Bio. He established a research collaboration with the company PAQUES and proposed technological solutions for the company Citrosuco. He worked in University Extension, coordinating the project: ''Understanding Astronomy: An Incentive to Learning Mathematics and Physics,'' which had a participating audience of 2975 people over 10 months. Areas of interest: Agro-industrial and Domestic Waste Treatment Systems; Hydrogen Production; Organic Acid Production; Methane Production; Biophotovoltaic Energy Production; Carbon Dioxide Removal; Butanol Production; Biorefineries; (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
