Abstract
We plan to continue investigating the many facets of the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates, exotic nuclei, and develop and apply the theory of quantum chaos. We also plan to study the topic of quantum turbulence. (AU)

This project is part of a program in the investigation of quantum liquids and solids. It presents possible developments of the work in which I am involved. I intend to continue studies of disorder phenomena in solid 4He. The diffusion Monte Carlo method will be extended to support calculations in an efficient way of properties that do not commute with the system Hamiltonian. In particular…

This project aims to study systems of current interest such as fermionic helium and warm dense matter. For instance, properties as susceptibility and stability of the unpolarised state of 3He are among the topics of study, as well as the behaviour of electron gas under warm dense conditions. To investigate the problem, the goal is to develop a variational wave-function and a variational d…
This is a research project associated to a work that will lead to Master Degree in which we want to deep our understand of finite quantum many-body systems. Quantum dots allow the study of bidimensional systems that show discrete energy levels with an structure similar to that one of an atom which exibits shell structure and magic numbers. We want to analyse electron pairs correlations a…
We will study the quantum Monte Carlo methods with both aims of to master the basic techniques but also as a mean to develop intuitions and reasonings about the physical principles involved in systems that requires quantum mechanics for their description. We intent begin our studies by considering one-body systems, but we want also to approach the many-body systems through the variational…
This project aims to investigate some properties of the heavy rare-gas atoms adsorbed on graphene. We will apply the method of molecular dynamics to investigate properties such as specific heat, isosteric heat, radial pair distribution function, lattice constant, the layer separation distance from the substrate and order parameters. We plan to publish a paper in an international journal t…

One of the aims of this BEPE is to allow the student to expand his knowledge of quantum Monte Carlo methods, which will offers the possibility to make a better MSc at Unicamp. In the proposed work, to be performed under the supervision of Dr. Matthew Foulkes at Imperial College London, we will explore the ability to use pseudopotentials - essential to speed up the simulations - in an open…
In this project I intend to investigate ultra-cold Fermi gases. This is an interesting system with the the remarkable property of having an adjustable interparticle strength due to Feshbach resonances. This fact makes possible to study these atomic gases over many length scales from weak to intermediate to strong coupling. Moreover this is the opportunity to establish a collaboration with…
The objective of this project is to study ultra cold fermi gases. To this intent we will develop an efficient and scalable Diffusion Monte Carlo algorithm for parallel simulations. Prof. Schmidt is a visiting professor of the program "Science without borders" and has a long time collaboration with my advisor. I have worked with Dr. Schmidt during his first stay in our institution, so the …
