Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações (Brasil). Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Energia e Materiais (CNPEM)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Dr Renato Sousa Lima received his PhD from the University of São Paulo (USP) in chemistry with focus on electrochemical bio/sensors, micro/nanofabrication, and microfluidics (2013). He is currently researcher at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials and visiting professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), USP, and Federal University of ABC (UFABC). The core problem that drives his research group is the achievement of accurate analyses at the point-of-need (PON) in the areas of environment and clinical diagnosis. To address this problem, the group's mission is to develop PON electrical/electrochemical bio/sensors, with principles of electrochemistry, material science, microfluidics, nano/microfabrication, and machine learning being essential. The researcher is reviewer for diverse journals and author of more than 50 scientific articles in journals with select editorial policy. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
