BSc in Animal Science from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (1985), MSc in Animal Science (1993) and PhD in Animal Science (1997) from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1993) . Post-Doctoral Internship Abroad in Ultrasound (UTAD-Portugal 2011) and Image Analysis (Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine-Japan 2012). He is currently FULL PROFESSOR of the Dept. Animal Production and Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Coordinator of the Center for Tropical Research in Buffaloes (CPTB), School of Veterinary Medicine anda Animal Science (FMVZ), Sao Paulo State University UNESP), Botucatu campus, Sao Paulo-Brazil campus. He is an Ad Hoc Reviewer of several journals, including "Journal of Animal Science", "Livestock Production Science", "Italian Journal of Animal Science", "Brazilian Journal of Animal Science". He has experience in Beef Cattle and Water Buffaloes Production, with emphasis on Carcass Evaluation and Grading, Ultrasonography and Image Analysis for prediction of carcass characteristics and meat quality of water buffaloes and beef cattle.
