Camila was a Scientific Researcher PqC-VI at the Medical Research Laboratory Radioisotopes LIM43 of HC-FMUSP, a member of CIBio-ICESP, EEP. She is a collaborating professor at UFJF, the Translational Oncology Center of the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo - ICESP, and the Grimm-Lab-NY-MSKCC. She works in the field of biotechnology and molecular imaging, focusing on fluorescence, optoacoustics (RSOM), and micro-PET-SPECT-CT at ICESP and the Nuclear Medicine Center-Inrad/HCFMUSP. Additionally, she conducts research on biological phenomena associated with extracellular vesicles, especially in prostate cancer. She holds a bachelor's degree in medical biological sciences from the State University of Campinas (2000), a master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (with an emphasis on immunology, 2004), and a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (with an emphasis on immunology, 2008, rated 7 by Capes). She completed postdoctoral studies in Oncology (with Prof. Roger Chammas) and molecular imaging (with Prof. Jan Grimm-MSKCC). She gained practical experience as a technologist/biomedical scientist in nuclear medicine at the Nuclear Medicine Service of UNICAMP's HC. Her master's and doctoral research focused on establishing glioma cell lines, primary cell culture of breast cancer, and cytogenetics. During her doctoral work, she assisted with projects studying galectin-3 in gliomas, and during her postdoc, she studied the immune system, angiogenesis, and the tumor microenvironment in melanomas. She recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to determine the physiological role of PSMA in tumor angiogenesis. She is currently the CEO of the company i.rad.Particles, with joint projects in RD with Columbia University and MSKCC-New York. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
