Birthplace: Brazil

Currently, I work as a professor in the Physics Department at the Federal University of Sergipe (DFI/CCET/UFS) and a researcher in Astrophysics. I was a Resident Astronomer at the SOAR telescope and a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of USP (IAG-USP) from 2009-2012. I graduated in Physics from the University of São Paulo, completed my Master's and Doctorate in Astrophysics at IAG-USP. In Astronomy, I develop research on Galactic and Extragalactic Astrophysics, particularly studies on spiral galaxies, emphasizing topics such as rotation curves, velocity fields, chemical evolution, metallicity gradients, galactic disks, warps, radio interferometry and codes for simulation and data reduction. I have also been dedicated to the study of chemical evolution in compact groups of galaxies. I planned and executed various observations in photometry and spectroscopy projects that extend from the optical to the radio, with observations at the SOAR, GEMINI, VLT, NTT, OPD and GMRT telescopes. I am part of the GAIA-GRAL team for the search for gravitational lenses at high redshifts. I have experience in instrumentation, with work in Physics in the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Particles, notably mass spectrometry of biomolecules by time-of-flight, using PDMS and MALDI techniques. In addition, I collaborated on the preliminary mechanical projects for the SOAR telescope's SIFS spectrograph and with the software group of the adjustable filter imager (BTFI).
