Possui graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2002), mestrado em Ciências Agrárias (Fisiologia Vegetal) pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2004), doutorado em Fisiologia Molecular de Plantas - Max-Planck-Institut für Molekulare Pflanzenphysiologie (2009) e pós-doutorado em Bioquímica e Fisiologia de Plantas pelo Instituto de Botânica de São Paulo. Atualmente é Professor Adjunto da Universidade Federal do ABC. Tem experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Fisiologia e Bioquímica Vegetal. Tem trabalhado com análises metabolômicas e com aspectos relacionados ao desligamento do metabolismo em tecidos tolerantes a dessecação, além do estudo do acúmulo de carboidratos em tecidos vegetais.
