The proposed project aims to simulate fluid dynamics based on the Immersed Boundary Method, studying the interaction between a fluid and elastic structures immersed in it. This project will introduce the student to biofluiddynamic, a not so common undergraduate subject, preparing him to pursue an academic career in the field.
The proposed project will provide the required theoretical, numerical, and computational background for the student to be introduced to an interesting application on mathematical modeling and computational simulation involving the interaction between a fluid and immersed elastic structures.
