B.Sc. degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1983), M.Sc. (1991) and Ph.D. (1994) in Molecular Biology-Protein Chemistry from Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Since 1987 she is a Research Scientist at Butantan Institute, São Paulo, Brazil. Research experience in Biochemistry, with focus on the following subjects: snake venoms; metalloproteinases; serine proteinases; proteomic analysis of snake venoms and of the effects of toxins upon cultured cells and tissues.
