The objectives of this work are to propose and to investigate numerical and experimentally new designs for filled microstructured optical fiber. These new fibers will be designed to present different optical properties than the traditional microstructured fibers The change in the fiber characteristics will happen due to the selective filling of material in one specific hole cladding.
