Danilo Silva received the B.Sc. degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Recife, Brazil, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, in 2009, all in electrical engineering. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto, at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). In 2010, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, and its applications. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
