Dr. Anna Peixoto is a professor at the Department of Environment and Civil Engineering, Paulista State University UNESP, Brazil, since March 2003. Formal education/degree: PhD in Agricultural Engineering (University of Campinas-UNICAMP, Brazil); MS in Geotechnics (University of São Paulo-USP, Brazil); BS in Civil Engineering (University of Campinas-UNICAMP, Brazil). The main topics of her current research are related to environmental geotechnics: mapping of natural and technological disaster risks; and in situ testing for geotechnical and geoenvironmental purposes. She was the president of the Technical Committee for Field Investigation (2014-2016) of the Brazilian Association of Soil Mechanics (ABMS). She also was a member of the Executive Committee for the Study of the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). She was head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNESP, Bauru (SP), Brazil in two terms (Sep/2017-2019 and Jan/2020-2022). President of the IX GeoJovem Conference and VI South American Conference of Young Geotechnical Engineers, part of COBRAMSEG 2022, which took place in Aug/2022, Campinas, Brazil.
