Fabio Guaraldo Almeida

Doctor (2021) and Master (2012) in Archeology at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnology -MAE/USP. Graduated in Social Science (2006) from FFLCH/USP. currently, he is developing a doctoral project also at MAE / USP, with the theme Archeology of Quilombo in an interdisciplinary perspective between Archeology, Ethnography, History and Geography. He is a founding partner of ArqueoGeo Consultoria Socioambiental Ltda, where he works in the area of Social Economy, Cultural Heritage and Archeological projects. He is a researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Studies on Technology and Territory-LINTT (MAE-USP) and an effective member of the Brazilian Archeology Society (SAB). He is a member of Grupo Cativeiro de Capoeira as a capoeirista and member of the organizing committee of the group's activities at the Centro de Culturas Negras do Jabaquara-CCNJ "Mãe Sílvia de Oxalá", in the city of São Paulo, under the general coordination of Mestre Miguel Machado. He has more than 15 years of experience in ethnographic projects with traditional communities, mainly quilombolas, as well as experience in the preparation, execution and coordination of Projects on Archaeological Heritage and other Cultural Heritage. The main topics of research interest are in historical archeology, archeological ethnography, oral history, quilombola community, cultural manifestations of the African diaspora in Brazil, territory and territoriality of traditional communities and landscape phenomenology.
