Full Professor in Endocrinology and Metabology at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP 2017), graduated in Medicine at UNICAMP (1987), residency in Endocrinology and Metabology and PhD in Internal Medicine at UNICAMP (2001). He is currently coordinator of LIMED (Diabetes and Metabolism Research Laboratory) at the State University of Campinas, research collaborator with several Brazilian and international universities. Member of the Editorial Board of the journal Obesity Surgery. He has experience in the field of Endocrinology and Metabology, working mainly on the following topics: diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity, bariatric and metabolic surgery and cardiovascular endocrinology. He serves as an associate researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Obesity and Diabetes and as a principal investigator at the Center for Research on Obesity and Comorbidities (OCRC-CEPID).
