Birthplace: Argentina

Bachelor of Physical Chemistry (1980) and Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences (1986) from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. Completed postdoctoral studies at Sorbonne University, Paris, France, between 1988 and 1990, under the guidance of Claude Gabrielli and Michel Keddam. From 1990 to 1993, served as a visiting professor at the Institute of Physics of UNICAMP, Campinas. In 1994, joined as a full professor at the Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos (USP), São Carlos, where he remained until 2002. Currently holds the position of full professor at the Institute of Chemistry of the University of São Paulo and serves as the editor of the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry. Possesses extensive experience in the field of Chemistry, with a focus on Electrochemistry, primarily working on the following topics: room-temperature ionic liquids, metal-ion batteries, and electrochemical capacitors.
