Obtained his MD degree at Universidade de São Paulo (1990), MSc in 1998 and PhD in 2002 at Universidade de São Paulo. He is currently a Full Professor of the Department of Pediatrics of University of Sao Paulo medical School. He currently work as assistant professor at the Pediatric Pulmonology Unit of Instituto da Criança HCFMUSP, and also works at Albert Einstein Hospital, in Sao Paulo. His main areas of expertise are Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology, with special interest in respiratory infections, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and asthma. He is member of the Brazilian Cystic Fibrosis Study Group (GBEFC) since its foundation, and is the executive coordinator of Brazilian Cystic Fibrosis Patient registry since 2009.
