She is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of São Paulo. She conducts research in the areas of science, innovation and higher education policies. She is vice-coordinator of the Center for Research on Public Policies at the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP (NUPPs/USP). She is associated with the HEG, Higher Education Group, University of Tampere, Finland. She collaborates with the European Master Program in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE), where she teaches the subject "Systems in Transition _Latin America". The MARIHE master's degree, supported by the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Union, is organized by a consortium of universities: Danube University Krems/Austria, University of Tampere/Finland and University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück/Germany. She is the regional editor for Latin America of the new International Encyclopedia of Higher Education (Encyclopedia of Higher Education, Dordrecht, SPRINGER). Between 2005 and 2006, she was a Fulbright Foundation fellow in the New Century Scholars Program, conducting a comparative study on the impact of globalization on higher education policies in emerging countries. Between 2007 and 2012, she was a member of the international research network The Changing Academic Profession - CAP project - which brought together researchers from 19 countries to study the responses of the academic environment to the challenges posed by the globalization process and the reforms implemented in higher education in these countries. She is currently a member of the APIKS network, the Academic Profession in the Knowledge Society - which brings together researchers from 36 countries and studies the transformations experienced by the academic profession with the emergence of the Knowledge Society.
