Claudia Lucia Mendes de Oliveira

Claudia Oliveira holds a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1985), a Master's degree (1988) and a PhD (1992) in Astronomy from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She completed her post-doctorate at IAP, Paris and was a fellow for two years at the European Southern Observatory, Chile. She is a professor at the Department of Astronomy of IAG, University of São Paulo, since April 1995, with habilitation in 2001 and currently a full professor (since 2009). She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Astrophysics, with an emphasis on galaxies, working mainly on the following topics: groups and clusters of galaxies, galaxy evolution and astronomical instrumentation.
