Holder of a Journalism degree from the University of São Paulo, and Master's and Doctoral degrees in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. Former postdoctoral research fellow in Social Psychology at the University of São Paulo, in Communication and Culture at the School of Communication of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and in Communication and Culture at the University of Sorocaba. Worked as a journalist (Editora Abril, Círculo do Livro), was professor of Communication (FAAP), and acted as an entrepreneur in the field of digital media. He was also Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Department of Romance Languages of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Has training in psychoanalysis, teaches at the Lacanian Clinic of Treatment and Research in Psychoanalysis (Clipp), linked to the Brazilian School of Psychoanalysis chapter São Paulo (EBP-SP), and is participant of the research group Laboratory of Social Theory, Philosophy and Psychoanalysis (Latesfip-USP). Works with several lines of research, covering various areas of communication (journalism, advertising, public relations, cyberculture, political communication, political economy of communication) and maintaining interfaces with other disciplines (philosophy, psychoanalysis, political science, sociology). Member of the Brazilian Society for Interdisciplinary Studies of Communication (Intercom), the Brazilian Association of Journalism Researchers (SBPJor), the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Advertising (ABP2), the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Communication and Politics (Compolítica), the Latin Union of Political Economy of Information, Communication and Culture chapter Brazil (ULEPICC-Br), the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the working group Philosophy and Psychoanalysis of the National Association of Graduate Studies in Philosophy (Anpof) and the Société Internationale de Psychanalyse et Philosophie (SIPP)/International Society for Psychoanalysis and Philosophy (ISPP).
