Gomes da Silva has doctorate at Neurology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2010), master's at Biomedical Engineering from Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (2007) and bachelor's at Fisioterapia from Universidade Iguaçu (2004). He is member of the Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC), the Sociedade Brasileira de Neurociências e Comportamento (SBNeC) and the Society for Neuroscience (SfN). He has expertise in epilepsy by the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2010) and in neuroscience by the Neurociências pelo Instituto Internacional de Neurociências de Natal, Edmond e Lily Safra e Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2008). He did training in neuroscience at the Institut de Neurobiologie de la Méditerranée (INMED) in Marseille, France (2011), and the Centro de Biología Celular y Molecular da Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC), Argentina (2008), both sponsored by the International Brain Research Organization ( IBRO). He is researcher at the Núcleo de Pesquisas Tecnológicas da Universidade de Mogi das Cruzes (UMC) and the Hospital do Câncer de Muriaé - Fundação Cristiano Varella (FCV). It has experience in Neuroscience, with emphasis on plasticity and brain development. He is interested on the mechanisms by which environmental factors (such as nutritional and physical activity habits) alter brain plasticity throughout lifespan as well as in neurological disorders.
