Jorge Grespan is a professor in the Department of History of the University of São Paulo in Brazil. He studied Economics (1980) and History (1982) at the University of São Paulo, obtained a doctoral degree in Philosophy at the University of Campinas in Brazil (1994) and a postdoctoral degree at the Free University of Berlin (1997). He is the author of books and articles in Portuguese and Spanish on the Marxist critique of political economy and Marxist Theory of History. He has also written on the colonial history of Latin America and Latin American Marxist thought. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
