He has a degree in Production Engineering - Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (1997), a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2000) and a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering and Sanitation from the University of São Paulo (2005) about Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), with a period at Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Since 2006 he has been a professor at the University of São Paulo. In 2011 make a post-doc at Autonomous University of Barcelona and is visisting professor at Griffith University, Australia (2023). He is currently the coordinator of the Center for Research in Circular Economy at InovaUSP and of the agreement between USP and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation of the Pioneer University and Profiled University network in Circular Economy. He also coordinates the research group on Circular Economy, Engineering and Life Cycle Management at USP's Advanced Manufacturing Center. He works mainly on the following topics: Circular Economy; Circular Ecosystems; Circular business models; Sociotechnical Innovation, Engineering and Life Cycle Management; Life Cycle Assessment (LCA); Environmental and Sustainable Management of Companies; Industrial Ecology; remanufacturing; Recycling; Product Service System; Cleaner Production; Ecodesign; Innovation in Circular Business Processes.
