Graduated in Medicine (University of São Paulo, 1984), medical residency in Pediatrics and specialization in neonatology.Worked as an assistant physician in the Pediatrics Division at the University Hospital of USP and received a full doctoral scholarship from CAPES to develop a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Medicine of Grenoble, Joseph Fourier University (1994), France. The title was revalidated by ICB-III of USP in 1995. Defended a thesis in the discipline of Neonatology of the Department of Pediatrics at FMUSP in 2005 to become na associate professor. She coordinated the Medical Residence Comission of HC/FMUSP from 2003 to 2005, the Graduate Program in Pediatrics and the Scientific Initiation Program of the same Department until April 2009. Responsible the Laboratory and Medical Research (Clinical Pediatrics) at FMUSP from 1997 to 2007, and vice-responsible for 2008 until April 2009. She was president of CPG at IMT-USP from 2012 to 2017 and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Tropical Medicine in the same period, member of the Deliberative Council of IMT and member of the Administrative committee. Head of the Laboratory of Soroepidemiology and Immunobiology at IMT-USP in 2010-2011 and vice-responsible for the following biennium. Member of the Graduate Council of USP, of the Curricular Chamber from 2013 to 2015. She assumed the role of editor in chief of the Revista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo in May 2015. She currently chairs the Teaching, Research and Extension Committee of Institute of Tropical Medicine of São Paulo, specialized center of the Faculty of Medicine of USP. She has experience in the field of Medicine, with emphasis on Molecular Biology applied to the diagnosis of infectious and parasitic diseases. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
