Graduated in Medicine at Botucatu Medcial School, State University São `Paulo (FMB-UNESP) in 1991, performed her master degree at the graduate programTropical Medicine in 2002 and her PhD at Surgery and Translational Medicine (former Basis in Surgery) in 2006, both at UNESP. She is working as fulltime professor at hte department of ophtalmology, otolaryngology and head and neck surgery since 1997, as Assistant Professor since 2013. She is a permanent professor of the gradaute program "Surgery and Translational Medicine", with emphasis on granulomatous diseases of the larynx, sleep medicine, mathematic modells applied to medicine and evidence-based evaluation of technologies in health. She is the leader of the "Reseach Group of the laryngeal-pharyngeal system: respiratory function, phonation and deglutition", registered at CNPq. She realized 2 short research stays at the sleep Medicine center at the University of Regensburg in 2006 and 2009, Germany, with financial support by DAAD and Fapesp, respectively. Since 2015, acts as a member of the Task Force Group of Paediatric Sleep Medicine/Breathing disorders during sleep at the European Respiratory Society. she coordinates the international office at the Botuctu Medcial School since 2009, with emphasis on student´s mobility and global health and sustainability.
