Matteo Bonfitto is an Actor-Performer, Theater Director, Prof. Full Professor at the Department of Performing Arts - IA - Unicamp, Coordinator of LabACT - Laboratory of Acting and Practical Knowledge (DAC Unicamp) and PQ2 Researcher at CNPq. He attended the School of Dramatic Art at the University of São Paulo (EAD) and graduated from DAMS - Department of Art, Music and Performing Arts - Università degli Studi di Bologna - Italy, obtaining a maximum grade (110 e lode). He has a Master of Arts from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo and a PhD (PhD) from Royal Holloway University of London - England. He has consistent experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Arts, especially with regard to the acting processes of the actor-performer, and from this perspective, in addition to conducting artistic laboratories and participating in panels and commissions in Brazil and abroad, he has published numerous articles in several languages, as well as the books "The Actor as a Composer" (O Ator Compositor), "A Cinética do Invisível" - also published in English "The Kinetics of the Invisible" and "Between the Actor and the Performer" (Entre o Ator e o Performer). He is a member of ABRACE - Brazilian Association for Research and Postgraduate Studies in Performing Arts, IFTR - International Federation for Theater Research, PSi - Performance Studies International and currently also the Editorial Board (Guest Editor) of the Performance and Mindfulness Journal of the University of Huddersfield, England. Served as Visiting Scholar at The Graduate Center - CUNY, New York City; at the Freie Universität Berlin, at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3, at the CET - University of Lisbon and developed research at the Istituto Nazionale Di Studi Sul Rinascimento (INSR), in Florence, Italy. Ad-hoc reviewer for Capes, CNPq and Fapesp, he is a member of the Scientific Council of the International Presence Studies Network and leads a CNPq Research Group called "Creative Processes in the Performing Arts and Knowledge of Practice". He is the Artistic Director of Núcleo Performa (www.performateatro.org), with which he presented shows and performances in Brazil, Chile, France, England, Scotland, Germany, Italy, China, Portugal, the United States, Ecuador, Colombia and Cuba. In addition to the "Zeferino Vaz Award" conferred by Unicamp, in the artistic sphere, highlights include the Best Show award for "Anywhere" (Em Lugar Algum), directed by Beth Lopes, at the British Council's PHYSICAL THEATER FESTIVAL; the nomination for the SHELL Award for Best Actor for "Endgame" (Fim de Partida), by Samuel Beckett, directed by Yoshi Oida; two nominations and an APCA Award for "SCinesthesia", in addition to the FUNARTE Award for circulation and dissemination of Dance also for "SCinesthesia", created in partnership with Cia de Danças de Diadema.
