I work within the framework of formal semantics My recent research focuses on the cross-linguistic variation in the expression of temporal reference, bringing into the debate the contribution of Brazilian indigenous languages. I have published on bare nominals, on the mass count distinction, on pluractionality and on tense, aspect and mood from a cross-linguistic perspective and with focus on Brazilian Portuguese and on Karitiana, a Brazilian indigenous language. I have also edited volumes on the Karitiana language and culture and on the teaching of Brazilian Portuguese in basic education. I received my PhD from the University of Campinas (Brazil) and my Masters degree from the University of Paraná (Brazil). I have been a visitor at the University of Massachusetts and at the University of Paris 7. I am the founder of the Workshop on Formal Linguistics, now on its 15th edition. I am a lecturer at the University of São Paulo since 1998 and became a Full professor in 2022. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
