Déborah Inês Teixeira Fávaro

Bachelor's in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1975), master's at Nuclear Technology - Applications from Universidade de São Paulo (1978) and doctorate at Nuclear Technology - Applications from Universidade de São Paulo (1985). My research field is related with Environmental Chemistry and trace analysis, Nuclear Chemistry and Radiochemistry, working mainly with emphasis in the environmental area in the following topics: chemical characterization (major elements, trace and toxic metals) of sediments and soils using the analytical techniques of neutron activation analysis and atomic absorption spectrometry. In this subject during the last years, the sediment quality assessment from water supply reservoirs and important rivers in the São Paulo State and the pollution history during the last 100 years in sediment profile by means of 210Pb dating method have been developed. The researcher also works in the determination of total mercury and methylmercury in samples of environmental interest and nutrition. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
