She obtained the Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of São Paulo Paulo (USP) in 1978 and received Master's degrees in Astrophysics and Doctor in Space Science, both by the National Research Institute (INPE) in 1981 and 1990, respectively. She works at INPE since 1982, involved with modeling and numerical simulation of plasmas. Between February 1989 and June 1990 she held a sandwich doctorate in the Theory and Simulations Group of EECS, UC Berkeley, in the United States, where she worked on the development of computational codes using particles for the modeling of RF asymmetric discharges. Between 1999 and 2001 and from November of 2013 to March of 2017 she acted as Academic Post-Graduation Course in Geophysical Space of INPE. From January 2005 to February 2008, she was the Head of the Associated Laboratory of Plasmas (LAP) of INPE and from January of 2007 to February of 2008 she acted as Deputy Coordinator of the Coordination of Associated Laboratories (INTE). In November 2010 she completed the Postgraduate course in Strategic Management of Science and Technology in IPP's by FGV. From March 2008 to August 2012 she was the Chief of Staff of the Director of INPE, a position she helds again, since September 2016. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
