Edson has a degree on Eletrical Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo (1982), master's on Applyied Physics from Universidade de São Paulo (1984) and PhD on Computer Science from University of Manchester - UK (1989). He has been on sabbatical leave at Strathclyde University, Glasgow - UK (1993) and at the Computer Laboratory, Cambridge University, Cambridge - UK (Feb/2006 to Jan/2007). He has experience in teaching and researching on the following subjects: computer networks, wireless communication, vehicular networks, mobility management, Internet Technology.
