Paulo Augusto Valente Ferreira received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) from the Universidade Federal do Pará, Brazil, in 1981, the Master and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Automation) from the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, in 1983 and 1986, respectively, and a Lecturing degree in Operations Research, also from Unicamp, in 1998. He joined the School of Electrical and Cumputer Engineering (FEEC) of Unicamp in 1989, where he is currently an Associate Professor at the Systems and Energy Department (DSE). His research activities concentrate on Nonlinear Optimization and Optimal Control, with emphasis in Multiobjective and Global Optimization, and in applications of Mathematical Optimization in Engineering. His research interests also include Robust Optimization and Game Theory. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
