Graduated in Mathematics from the University of Passo Fundo (1977), MA in Applied Mathematics from the State University of Campinas (1980), doctorate in Education (Teaching Methodology) from the State University of Campinas (1994) and short post-doctoral internships in Universities of Lisbon and Sevilla. He is currently Professor Doctor at State University of Campinas, where he performs research and teaching at the undergraduate and Graduate Education (Masters / doctorate). Themes and lines of research and teaching performance: mathematics education, training and professional development of teachers, teacher knowledge and didatic-pedagogical practices in mathematics. He was an advisor of research projects and teaching training programs abroad (Guatemala and Portugal). Visiting Professor at the University of Cordoba (Argentina) and the University of Lisbon (Portugal). From 2007 to 2009, he was a member of the National Committee of CAPES - for evaluate Graduate Programs in Education. Since 2010, is coordinator of the Graduate Program in Education, Faculty of Education at Unicamp and member of the Central Postgraduate (CCPG) at Unicamp. In August 2011, he also assumed the overall coordination of the programs of graduate (masters and doctorate) of FE/Unicamp. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
