Doutor em Física pelo Instituto de Física da USP, com experiência na área de Física e ênfase em Física Estatística e Termodinâmica, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: epidemiologia matemática, matemática forense, genética populacional e informática médica. É docente-pesquisador na Faculdade de Medicina da USP (São Paulo, SP, Brasil) e na Florida International University (Miami, Fl, EUA) e Coordenador do Projeto ANSP (an Academic Network at São Paulo).
