Prof. Max H. M. Costa has graduated in Electrical Engineering at University of Brasília (1974). Received the Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Campinas (1977), the Master's in Statistics from Stanford University (1979), the Master's in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University (1983) and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University (1983). Received the Livre Docência degree from University of Campinas in 1998. Currently a Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of University of Campinas and an Advisor to the Pro-Rectory of Research and the Office of International Relations of University of Campinas (Unicamp). From 2007 to 2011 was Director of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Unicamp. Has experience in Electrical Engineering with focus on telecommunications, information theory, information geometry, image and video compression and digital TV. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and a Senior Member of the Brazilian Telecommunications Society (SBrT). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
