José Roberto Santin has a degree in Pharmacy, a Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Vale do Itajai (2010) and PhD in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP, 2013), area of concentration in Toxicology and Toxicological Analysis. He is currently a Professor at the University of Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI) at the School of Health Sciences, working in the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Masters / Doctorate). He is an effective member of the Brazilian Society of Toxicology (SBTOX) and member of the advisory board of the Brazilian Society of Toxicology (SBTOX; 2020-2021 management) and member of the Brazilian Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (ABCF) and coordinator of the Ethics Committee on the Use of Animals (CEUA/UNIVALI) (2019-present). His line of research investigates: the mechanisms involved in the control of leukocyte migration to inflammatory foci, the action of xenobiotics on the body's ability to respond to trauma and the pharmacological and toxic mechanisms of new molecules or natural products for therapy.
