Full Professor at Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar)´s Department of Psychology where she coordinates LAPREV (The Laboratory of Violence Analysis & Prevention) which conducts research, community outreach work, and teaching activities in the area of family and school violence. Post-Doctoral experience from the University of Toronto, Canada, Doctoral Degree in Experimental Psychology, University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, M.A. in Psychology from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and a B.A. and Licensed Degrees iin Psychology from the Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP). Professor Williams supervises Graduate students in the Graduate Progam in Psychology from the Federal University of São Carlos. A level 1 researcher from CNPq (Brazil´s National Research Council), Dr. Williams is the author of several books and academic journal papers, having received many awards (more relevant ones involve first prize in Best Practices that incorporate the Gender/Ethic Perspective in Health (Panamercian Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and Prevention of Child Abuse from the Women´s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) in Geneva, both given in 2009. Has taught Graduate courses at at University of Mar del Plata(2010), and University of Cordoba (2012), both in Argentina. Has given oral presentations internationally, such as at ISPCAN (International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect), in Chicago (2008), and at the Department of Psychology at Southern Methodist Universit (SMU), , Dallas, 2013. Has partnered with several international organizations, sucha as with American Psychological Association (APA) to validate the ACT parenting program to Brazil. Was Vice-President of the Brazilian Society of Psychology (2009-2013). Is a fellow of the University of Combridge, Sidney Sussex College, England, in 2015. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
