Graduated in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1988), Master's in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1991) and Ph.D. in "Informatique Systèmes Et Communications" from Institut National Polytechique de Grenoble - INPG/IMAG, France(1998). Fernando Osório works as researcher/professor since 1990, and now he is Assistant Professor at the University of Sao Paulo (ICMC/USP), Brazil. Professor Osório is member of ACM, IEEE and SBC-Brazilian Computer Society, board member of the Robotics Council of the SBC (CER 2008-2018), board member of the Artificial Intelligence Council of the SBC (CEIA 2007-2010), board member of the Center for AI USP-FAPESP-IBM (C4AI 2020- ), board member of the Center for Robotics of USP (CRob/USP - 2013- ), and IEEE DVP Member (Distinguished Visitor Program - Latin America 2007-2009). He is member of the autonomous and intelligent robots research groups from USP-ICMC, at LRM (Mobile Robotics Research Laboratory), INCT-SEC (National Institute of Science and Technology for Critical Embedded Systems), and also he is group member of SENA project (Autonomous Navigation Embedded System). He published 32 paper in journals, more than 170 papers in conference proceedings, he organized 8 books, and published 12 book chapters. His main research interests are: Mobile Robotics, Machine Learning, Intelligent Systems, Image Processing and Virtual Simulation. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
