My main interests are on tropical medicine, focused in insect vectors of neglected diseases. I completed doctorate in 2007, under a bilateral cooperation between Fiocruz (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, in Atlanta, GA). It was followed by two international post-doctorate positions at Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS )/ Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD, both in France) in 2009, and at University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS (2012). Currently, I am in University of Campinas, coordinating research projects, including an international agreement signed between UNICAMP in Brazil and CNRS in France (grant number 2017/50329-0). I have published in the fields of general and medical entomology, entomological surveys in areas under conservation, and arachnology. I am currently pursuing research in molecular entomology turned to population genetics, phylogeny, ecological modeling, systematics, and morphometrics of Chagas disease vectors.Skype: almeida_carlos_eduardo.
