Pedro is a vertebrate paleontologist and evolutionary biologist currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo. Pedro is also a research associate (honorary) at Stony Brook University (USA) and an editorial board member of the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. Previously, Pedro worked as a "Capes Young Talent" Postdoctoral Fellow at the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil (February 2021 - October 2021) and as an NSF postdoctoral fellow at Stony Brook University (2019 - 2021). He has obtained his BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil) (2011) and his MSc in Comparative Biology at the same institution (2014). Pedro holds a PhD in Earth Sciences (Palaeobiology) completed at the University of Birmingham, UK (2018), under the supervision of Dr Richard Butler. Pedro's research interests include macroevolution, systematics and osteology of reptiles, with particular interest in evolutionary patterns and processes, phenotypic evolution and comparative phylogenetic methods.
