Pedro is a vertebrate paleontologist and evolutionary biologist currently working as an Assistant Professor at the University of São Paulo (Department of Zoology, Institute of Biosciences). Pedro is also a research associate (honorary) at Stony Brook University (USA) and an editorial board member of the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology (acting as the "Phylogenetic Editor"). He has obtained his BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil) (2011) and his MSc in Comparative Biology at the same institution (2014). Pedro holds a PhD in Earth Sciences (Palaeobiology) completed at the University of Birmingham, UK (2018). Pedro's research interests include macroevolution, systematics and osteology of reptiles, with particular interest in evolutionary patterns and processes, phenotypic evolution and comparative phylogenetic methods.
