Helmo Kelis Morales Paredes

received the B.S. degree from the San Agustin National University Arequipa, Arequipa, Peru, the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Campinas, Campinas, Brazil and the D.Sc. degree (Livre-Docência) from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP), Sorocaba, SP, Brazil, in 2002, 2006, 2011 and 2019, respectively. All in electrical engineering. In 2009, he joined the Power Electronics Group, University of Padova, Padova, Italy, as a Visiting Student. In 2014, he joined the PEMC Group, University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K., as a Visiting Scholar. In 2018, he joined the ACEPS Group, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA, as a Visiting Scholar. Since december 2011, he is with the Sao Paulo State University (UNESP), Sorocaba, SP, Brazil, where he is the Leader of the Group of Automation and Integrating Systems (GASI) and Chairman of the Internal Committee for Energy Conservation. His current research interests include power quality, power theories under nonsinusoidal and unbalanced conditions, harmonics propagation, accountability, revenue metering, and power electronics for distributed renewable energy systems and microgrids. Dr. Morales-Paredes is a Senior member of the IEEE and he is associate to IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and IEEE Power Electronics Society. He is a member of the Brazilian Power Electronics Society and the Brazilian Automatic Society. He received the Prize Paper Award in the IEEE Transaction on Power Electronics in 2012. He is currently an Associate Editor for the IEEE Latin America Transactions and Guest Editor for Journal Energies of the Special Issue in "Applied Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic in Power Electronics, Motor Drives, Renewable Energy Systems and Smart Grids".
